SNL Treated Aristotle Athari Unfairly

NBC Makes Another Bad Decision
NBC is known for making bad or weird decisions. The network has struggled with its Olympics coverage for years. I’m still bitter over the mishandling of Community and the way Conan was treated. Sometimes the network sides with what I consider lesser talent or lowest common denominator ideas.
I’m not happy with Peacock, and I refuse to pay $10 a month for the ad-free version. I was perfectly fine with NBC sitcoms on Hulu and Netflix. Peacock is just a money-grabbing streaming service that’s unnecessary. I’m hoping it fails, so the content I like goes back to the streaming services I trust.
SNL Says Goodbye to Eight Cast Members
SNL went through a rather bizarre shakeup before its 48th season. Eight people left, and there is no telling whether people left on their own or got pushed out. I assume Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney, and Pete Davidson left on good terms because they had farewell numbers at the end of season 47.
Four other cast members left before season 48 started. Chris Redd won an Emmy while on SNL; we can safely assume his career will be fine. Alex Moffat also left, which is sad because he was really hitting his stride last season (especially on Weekend Update).
Melissa Villaseñor also left. She was chronically underused, and she was vocal about it online. It wasn’t a surprise that she left, but it’s irritating that other cast members who aren’t as strong as her got more air time. I can understand her frustrations. She also brought controversy for herself, mostly through Twitter.
And that leaves us with just one person: Aristotle Athari. I’m really upset about this. For one, this person has the coolest name on the planet. Secondly, they were hardly given any air time for their one and only season.
Aristotle Deserved More Attention
Aristotle showed way more potential and originality than the bulk of people that are currently on the show. His Instagram is one of the kindest of any celebrity I’ve ever come across. The parts he did get to play on SNL, where he wasn’t just an extra or dressed up as Spiderman, were hilarious.
