A Poem of Mine Got on a Shortlist for an Award

Earlier this year I wrote “Native Plants of Eastern Washington”; I wrote this poem in preparation for a novel I eventually want to write. I’ve put the larger project idea on hold — it’s a story based in Walla Walla, WA about a single mother who recently lost her husband to violence.
